2019 Jaguar I-PACE vs 2018 Tesla Model X
While mildly electrified vehicles have been available for years, it is only recently that there has been much competition when it comes to a fully-electric, plug-in SUV. The Tesla Model X was one of the first to offer elegant driving, a luxury interior, and complete electric performance. However, we believe that the Jaguar I-PACE, which is all-new for the 2019 model year, can give it a run for the money. In this 2019 Jaguar I-PACE vs 2018 Tesla Model X comparison, we are going to explore just that.
First of all, the Tesla is a larger vehicle. While the 2019 Jaguar I-PACE can hold up to five passengers, the 2018 Tesla Model X can hold up to seven. This means that the Tesla has some of the advantages of a larger model (like more interior space) but also some of the disadvantages related to maneuverability. The 2019 Jaguar I-PACE still offers up to 51 cubic feet for cargo with the rear seats folded down, which is respectable for the class.

And elite Tesla model will offer more range and acceleration than the 2019 Jaguar I-PACE, but when you look at more basic end of the spectrum, the numbers are much more comparable. Whether you choose the base model or an upper trim, the 2019 Jaguar I-PACE offers 240 miles of range and a faster 0-60 mph acceleration time (4.5 seconds) than the starting 2018 Tesla Model X 75D model, which is rated for 237 miles and 4.9 seconds. Of these two models, the Jaguar even has a slightly lower starting MSRP than the Tesla.
Both of these all-electric SUVs offer fast charging that can get you back on the road quickly and can take advantage of recharging stations in many areas. The 2019 Jaguar I-PACE can reach an 80% charge using a 50 kW DC rapid charger in just under an hour and a half. Even just plugging the vehicle in for a while at the grocery store is enough to help get a few more miles. Both of these models also offer all-wheel drive.
